About Us

NYCE engages Namibians between the ages of 18-35 in activities and programmes designed to empower and inspire them.

  • We use youth-friendly communication platforms like social media to provide easy access to information on environmental conservation which can be shared widely.
  • NYCE hosts regular competitions to encourage young Namibians to showcase their essays, artworks, videos, photos, and other talents in ways that highlight and draw attention to national threats to ecosystems and species.
  • By tapping into the expertise and knowledge of our parent body, the Namibian Chamber of Environment (NCE), NYCE offers training, mentorship, and networking opportunities through webinars and in-person events where experts share their knowledge and experience with NYCE members.
  • Our members are encouraged and empowered to develop and implement practical outreach activities such as tree planting, clean-ups, and awareness campaigns to engage and educate Namibian communities and institutions on environmental issues.
  • NYCE is committed to long-term sustainability, which we achieve by raising funds and securing other forms of assistance from state and non-state actors across the country.

Partnering with Miss Earth Namibia

Albertina Haimbala, Miss Earth Namibia 2024, has been on board with NYCE since our inception. Through this partnership, we are generating greater awareness about environmental issues in Namibia among young people who are interested in beauty, fashion and related sectors. We believe that conservation is everyone’s responsibility!

The NYCE Leadership Team

Our organisational structure is designed to provide centralised coordination and support for regional activities and events taking place across the country. The elected leadership positions include: President and Vice President, Secretary General, Regional Coordinators and Regional Secretaries. As the NYCE grows its membership base, we will look to establish leaders in each of Namibia’s 14 regions. Day-to-day operations and administrative functions are handled by the Youth Coordinator, a permanent staff position reporting to the elected leaders.
